The Candida Spit Test is a very simple test that you do first thing in the morning. It is not meant to be a definitive diagnosis of a Systemic Candida infection, but it will give you an indication of whether your problems could be the result of a Candida overgrowth.

One of the advantages of this test is that you can tell the results to your doctor and they could then do further testing of blood and stool samples that would confirm the diagnosis.

What is the Candida Spit Test?
The Candida Spit Test has three stages;
Please make sure that you do this test first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything. Do not even brush your teeth!.

1. Fill a glass or clear container with clean water.
2. Work up a decent amount of spittle and spit this into the water in the glass.
3. Watch to see what the spittle does. Check back every 15 minutes, you will have a good idea of the result within an hour.

What Will Happen
There are three results that most people observe.

1. The spit stays suspended on top.
2. The saliva drifts for a little but over the course of the hour it begins to grow legs and by the end of the hour there is some still floating at the top and half suspended in the water.
3. The spittle straight away gets stringy and after the first 15 -20 minutes has settled on the base of the glass.

How to read the results.
The standard analysis is that if the spit floats then it is a pretty good indication that things is fine,
if the spittle starts to sink then there is a minor upset and
if it quickly settles on the base then you should seek further advice as this is well regarded as this a unquestionable clue that there is a Candida overgrowth.
